There are a couple vexing mysteries in Flash Forward about the small views into the future. Olivia is with Simcoe and her husband is drinking. They have both vowed to not let this happen. They are vocally defying the "future" as they have seen it. I believe it will happen exactly as they saw it.

We had a huge clue before Simcoe was dragged away. He wanted Olivia. He voiced if he had met her in the past at Harvard he would have chased her. It is very possible the next step for the scientists is to try to send him back to the past. (He is an unwilling guinea pig at this point.) If he could go back to Harvard, he would tell himself to find Olivia. If Olivia is with him then of course he would be the "honey" in her house. Her unhitched husband would not be encouraged to be sober. Of course he would be drunk in the new future.

Ah, but in Benford's Flashforward he is wearing a friendship bracelet given to him by his daughter. He is also overcome during his flashforward by his guilt about drinking again because of his wife's disappointment. The woman on the train that Simon Campos seduces relates that her flashforward was of her at a gathering of many folks celebrating their flashforward in Time's Square in New York. "They dropped the ball and everything" counting down to the time of the flashforward of everyone's memory.

One thing I'm not sure I like is the change that the TV writers have done to the original source material. In the novel time is fixed, no action can be taken that will change the outcome of the flashforward. Having someone who had a flashforward kill themselves before the events in the future means that time is not fixed. That fate is what we make and we are not predestined. I liked the book better. But I'll stick with the show for now, it is the best thing on TV this season.

Hmmm, I've just watched today the 10th episode and I'm also foreseeing somethings a bit too...

Whatever people have seen in their ffs are consequences of their choices they've made in their parallel universe, as simcoe have mentioned on ep.10
the "many worlds interpretation" : anything in our pasts actually did happen in some other universe, all the alternate decisions and choices you made are still playing themselves out in another worlds...sooo based on the theory upon this (Hugh Everett's theory:) these make the ff's.
Even that Nadha lady said that this&this&this will happen then she said it wouldnt kinda supports the theory, the fed guy that commit suicide, the otistic kiddo saying "this is my home too"....

But when it comes to why there are people who havent had ffs and like how people relate in the same consequenting universe, and lotsa questions to go on with these of course still remain a mystery...
